About the Opportunity
The West Space Commission is an investment in artists, supporting the development, presentation, and communication of ambitious new work. The opportunity supports early-career artists on the cusp of transitioning to the next career stage. Artists are given sixteen months to develop new work in a resourced and facilitated environment.
This program is a critical pathway for artists to sustain and strengthen their practices. It is a supportive space for experimentation and building sector connections.
Two artists or collectives will be selected through an open-call process. Assessment is undertaken by the West Space Artist Committee, comprising a rotating group of artists based across the continent, the artists on the West Space Board and the West Space Curatorial Team.
