"At the moment I am painting two types of paintings. The first type is on a canvas. It is a 2 dimensional image. Your eyes move around within the image and you ignore the rest of the world around it. The other type of painting aims to cover as much of the environment as possible so that there are no other things around it to be ignored. You are in the painting.
I like to think of the second type of painting in terms of the first; imagining that you are a little square of colour in the first type of painting looking at all the other little areas of colour around you." — Sam Songailo
