Lakatoi has lit up dancefloors both as a DJ and live act (as avant garde rap duo Kandere) and supported for renowned artists such as Leonce, Asmara and Juliana Huxtable. He organised Lapdance 4 Trans Rights, and has presented seminal cross-cultural diasporic organising work as a co-founder of Alterity Collective and woven together queer bla(c)k voices of Pasifika, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities as FAMILI.
