Sharon Billinge presents The Visible and the Invisible by photographing visitors and painted their images directly onto the walls of the space.

These intimate yet repeated public interactions explored the duality of the mall as a place for people to be seen whilst becoming one of many. By temporarily fixing the outcomes of these encounters on something permanent, the painted figures became markers of presence and time spent in the gallery space within the context of a much larger body of people tracing and retracing journeys throughout the centre.
