“Super Panavision”
Anna Higgins

Super Panavision was created through thinking about time and space travel, expanded cinema and the experimental possibilities of blending the physical world with it’s reflected image.
Through manual 35mm film and assemblage based methods, the works combine landscape, abstraction, sculpture and theatrical space with everyday environments. The work seeks - like much experimental, non-narrative film activity - to blend multiple perspectives and realities and attempts to create an alternate space and time through the collapsing of imagery into the material.
This project has been supported by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.
Anna Higgins’ sculptural practice takes existing imagery and forms and abstracts and re-contextualizes them into ‘alien’ or new perspectives. Higgins completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honors) at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2013.
