For this project at West Space, Akira Akira constructs "an interior within an interior" with works based on existing structures such as a clothes rack, ceiling and pendant lights.

Governed by functionality and material palette, they constitute an attempt to assemble the fleeting physicality of an atmosphere that sits somewhere between a lingering fog and the last flickering of a fluorescent tube.

Akira Akira has exhibited in exhibitions including Out of Doubt: Roppongi Crossing 2013, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo (2013); Test Site,Hugo Michel Gallery, Adelaide (2013); Assembly, Bus Projects, Melbourne (2013); Enquiry on Porosity, Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts, Melbourne (2012) and Shifting Geometries, Embassy of Australia, Washington DC (2012).
