“Public Meeting”
Brad Haylock
22 Mar → 13 Apr 2013
Comprising a suite of sculptural furniture objects and a poster campaign, Public Meeting by Brad Haylock instantiates the democratic paradox of relational art and the conflicting value systems through which images and material goods circulate.
The exhibition operates as a site for the assembly of a fleeting public, whilst dissembling its own motive. Benches and seating negotiate the dual possibilities of art-object and vulgar utility.
Brad Haylock is an artist in Naarm/Melbourne.
