“Pin, Pricks, Power and Pistols”
Tony Woolrich

Pin, Pricks, Power and Pistols is an installation by Tony Woolrich.
Coming to art-making from a career as a plumber, Woolrich explores the fluid nature of the construction of identity by a myriad of interconnected floating signifiers. Using a variety of media from dressmakers' pins that prick the canvas to poor reproductions of pistols, he looks at the male identity by constructing mini narratives.
Tony Woolrich traded his life as a plumber for one as an artist. Having gained a Diploma of Fine Art in Photography, it wasn’t long before Tony turned to more tactile mediums such as sculpture.
