“Eight Paintings with a Fortress Theme”
Mark Rodda
15 Apr → 30 Apr 2005
Fortress is a series of eight paintings by Mark Rodda concerned with the idea of containment.
Although recent local and world politics may render the fortress theme topical, it is indisputably a universal and eternal social concern. To keep the right things in and the wrong things out is the function of a fortress, whether these things are people, animals, elements, or ideas. Fortress explores the safe benefits and the lonely, excluding pitfalls of a mental or physical barrier.
Mark Rodda was born in Tasmania and now lives and works in Melbourne.
