“Drum Room”
Tim Bruniges
22 Feb → 16 Mar 2013
Drum Room is a body of work by Tim Bruniges exploring the possibilities of space, perception and the disruption of time.
The sound installation features an orchestral bass drum and cymbals in a reversal of their assumed rhythmic role to form a temporally ambiguous, immersive drone machine.
Tim Bruniges is a Sydney based visual artist and musician. Working across a range of media, including installation, sound and video, his practice centres on exploring the reliability of perception, the fallibility of memory and our relationship with time. Often taking the form of site-specific installations, the works attempt to create immersive spaces that allow for a disruption of expected experience.
