In Deferring Gesture, the animated and human qualities have developed by creating a union of painting, film and objects, amplifying the mediating role of the brush that lies between the artist and the canvas.
Michael Georgetti uses parallel processes to emphasise the disconnection between the maker and the artwork in painting. The process is a provisional way to address the inflexible nature of the stretched canvas.
Michael Georgetti is a Naarm/Melbourne based artist working in painting, installation, film and sculpture.
