8 Sep 2006 - 23 Sep 2006 · West Space · Gallery 1
Opening: Thursday 7 September 2006, 6-8pm
Artist Talk: Thursday 21 September 2006, 12.30-1.30pm

Ignored for decades, but reclaimed in recent years, Edna Walling’s landscape architecture proposed a particular vision of the Australian Garden. In the exhibition Winter Walling, Christopher Koller and Sophie Knezic – artists with an ongoing interest in landscape architecture – come together for the first time, to explore Walling’s gardens. Focusing on the local site of Mawarra during the season of winter, Knezic and Koller reintepret the garden in light of its change, decay and restoration over the years.

Sophie Knezic has exhibited her mixed media works in Australia and Japan, and has been the recipient of studio residencies in Paris, and Kamiyama, Japan. She is currently enrolled in a Master of Fine Art at VCA.

Christopher Koller has exhibited his photography in Australia, Japan, UK and Mexico. He has been the recipient of studio residencies in Milan, LA and Tokyo. He completed his Master of Fine Art at RMIT in 2002 and is currently Head of Photography at VCA.
