As part of a continuing interest in extending the processes of music into visual and spatial composition, Nathan Gray presents a set of works created during a Asialink residency in Yogyakarta Indonesia. In this installation, the viewer’s attention is directed away from the physical object and toward the content of their perception, freeing objects so that they might create new associations and resonances. This is a continuous project that is simultaneously concerned with an appreciation of composition and a broader examination of cultural positioning.
