The twelve West Space committee members each selected an artist whose work addressed the theme: Real and Unreal. In turn those artists selected another artist to be added in the second week of the show, and those artists selected a third round of artists to join them. This year Selekta continues. We've ditched the idea of a theme, as it was clear that people chose artists they admired, were influenced by, or were dating. We've also ditched the idea of having the three rounds installed across three weeks.

Here’s how it works in 2006: The round three artists from last year chose an artist to start the chain again. Those artists all chose an artist and those in turn, choose a third. This year the new groups of three will be installed together so visitors can witness their (dis)connections from the beginning. If a committee member leaves West Space, or an artist decides not to participate, that round becomes a ‘DEAD END’. Each year, any new committee members may start up a new round.
