Pin, Pricks, Power & Pistols explores the fluid nature of the construction of identity by a myriad of interconnected floating signifiers. Using a variety of media from dressmakers' pins that prick the canvas to poor reproductions of pistols, Woolrich explores the male identity by constructing mini narratives.
Tony Woolrich traded his life as a plumber for one as an artist. Having gained a Diploma of Fine Art in Photography, it wasn’t long before Tony turned to more tactile mediums such as sculpture.
He is currently the visual art co-ordinator at Holmeslgen TAFE Victoria.
