Out of Place was an exhibition presented on the Flinders Street hoardings of Federation Square during its construction. The works, specifically made for the site, negotiated issues of public display and engagement through a sense of play and illusion. Curated as a juxtaposed collection of different visualised ideas, the overall sense was of a continuous single artwork, thereby producing a kind inadvertent collaboration.

Out of Place was held in conjunction with the 1999 Melbourne International Festival.
