Kate Smith and Alex Vivian propose an exhibition surrounding notions of sloth, using as a departure point Mel Campbell’s 2009 The Age article ‘Sloth, Glorious Sloth’. Within the piece Campbell explores historical and present attitudes towards sloth, and sloth as an important precursor to creative output. Smith and Vivian will build within The West Wing a chillax pad of lowbrow entertainment including photocopies of outdated newspapers, women’s magazines, baby couture, screenings of Lady and the Tramp and Peewee Herman stand-up.
