Tamsin Green

10 Oct 2008 - 1 Nov 2008 · West Space · Gallery 3
Opening: Thursday 9 October 2008, 6–8pm
Artist Talk: Thursday 30 October 2008, 12.30-1.30pm

Looking is part of an ongoing investigation into representations of vision. Two films have been produced, one on a contemporary camera and the other on an antique 8mm camera; a kind of visual time machine. While the contemporary narrative is installed almost as an obstruction within the space, the more romantic narrative, created with the antique apparatus, will require an exchange.

Tamsin Green completed an Honours degree at Monash University in 2006 and is currently undertaking a Masters in Fine Art at Monash University, for which she is a recipient of an Australian Postgraduate Award. She has been involved in a number of group shows and collaborations, including Substructure at Conical, and Floats Like a Brick Doesn’t at Bus gallery. Green has also curated a number of projects including Objects in Space as part of the Next Wave Festival 2008. She is actively involved in the Melbourne ARI network as a curator, writer, practitioner and advocate.
