A rose is a Rose, isn't it?

Laila Marie Costa

20 Feb 2004 - 6 Mar 2004 · West Space · Gallery 3
Opening: Thursday 19 February 2004, 6-8pm

Roses, with their own foliage, are ideal for ‘one-flower’ arrangement. A bit more classy than most garden flowers, they keep company with silver and glass rather than earthenware or pewter.

Despite predictions made many years ago that the art of flower arrangement would be but a temporary fad, soon forgotten, this new art is still with us; instead of receding, the interest in it continues to grow.

Laila Marie Costa completed a Graduate Diploma in Visual Arts at the Vic College of the Arts in 2003. She enjoys collecting colourful plastic things, punk rock and long drives in her navy CLK convertible Mercedes. As well as her art practice, she is the CEO and creative force behind Stallion Publishing.
