She has exhibited locally and internationally, and worked in studios in Utrecht (Netherlands), Berlin (Germany) and currently Fitzroy (Melbourne). Marika graduated from RMIT with a BA Arts (Fine Arts) with a major in sculpture in 2008. Her visual arts practice has been described as “revealing a criticality and self-reflexivity about the environment within which art is exhibited, as well as notions of place within contemporary art practice and discourse.” (Veronica Tello, for Art World Magazine). Marika is a founding director of new Fitzroy-based arts initiative, Dear Patti Smith, and has produced public art within the local government sector. Marika has been an intern and volunteer at West Space since mid 2008 and is a current Committee Member.
